My friend Wiggins and I went to check out Sedona, Arizona which is about 2 hours from the Phoenix valley specifically, Devils Bridge. We drove a majority of the hike-able trail as there isn't much more to gain by taking it on foot. If you have a capable vehicle, I recommend driving it too as your feet will thank you later and you'll spend less time in the AZ sun!

The road was relatively tame, but I would recommend an SUV with decent ground clearance as there are some formidably sized boulders and drop offs. The entrance has warning signs and recommends 4x4 with high ground clearance. My 4Runner has a 2.5 inch lift with 32" all terrain tires and did just fine :)

The scenic 10 minute drive gave us a head start over a majority of the crowd, so the last leg of the trail was pretty quite.

Once we got to Devils Bridge, there was a line of people waiting to cross and take photos though it did move quickly.

It really is an interesting rock formation, smaller in scale than I originally anticipated however, still striking in appearance.

Bonus: I miss a step and my heart skips several beats.

By the time we left, foot traffic had definitely picked up. If this was a sign of what the rest of Sedona looked like, we were probably going to have to stay away from other tourist heavy areas.

We went to to much quieter spot where, other than an elderly couple and their local guide, we had it all to ourselves. It was  surprisingly windy but made for some nice action in Wiggins' dreads and clothing.

Wiggins always has good energy and it shows, naturally. Never a dull moment with this guy. 

It was still early in the day but we wanted to leave before traffic picked up and still have enough time to long board once we got back into the valley. Another successful day trip for sure!  Peace out, until next time.
